Céad míle fáilte                                                           From The Motley Crew

Founded in 2002,with five of us, to start with, none of us had never seen the need to join any other club ,with an average riding career of twenty years plus per rider, we were just a bunch of kindred spirits who enjoyed each others company, and going for run outs in our Beautiful land over the last five years we have amassed 13 members , not a lot I hear you cry, well we'd rather have 13 good folk than a thousand who would not watch each others backs, and abide by our simple rules

we mostly do run outs around Scotland, a normal Tuesday run can see us doing two ,three hundred miles  or sometimes twenty five depends on the mood of the majority that are out that day, a lot of it is to do with the Craic (fun) and getting away from the everyday chores that engulf everyone 's everyday life's and spending time in the company of decent folk who understand what you are about.

Over the last five years we have a had a blast , meeting with other club 's partying with them, and hopefully leaving a good impression on them as ninety nine percent of the time we have been  back , our furthest party was the Harley Superally in Bussloo ,Holland. most of the actual rallies we attend are that of the Harley Davidson Riders Club of Great Britain ,regional rallies, which cover the length and breadth of this country with some of us being members also, we have made a lot of friend' s in that club, and that is the way we intend to keep it, and improve upon it,

Although a relatively young club in years formed ,we have crammed a lot into the five years we have been riding together ,and long may it continue as life is way to short not to have fun and to have your brothers and sisters around you, watching things unfold

On this page I will give you a brief run run down on our history and the reasons behind us forming our own crew, as a bike club we have no political interests and  no affiliations to any group we are just a bunch of blokes and their friends enjoying our bikes and the sense of brotherhood that is sadly missing from the world today , maybe one day we'll meet on the road, until then keep it real..........

Most of us have been around bikes and owned bikes for more  years than we care to remember, it all started unofficially in 2002, I had recently bought a harley fxr, after my older bro,  had went and beat me to it buying a 883 sportster .One day at work, an old acquaintance of mine, big George (tattooist) turned up on a beautiful Dyna that he had just acquired ,we got talking as we hadn't seen each other for about ten years, and I found out he had been running around with a fellow tattooist going by the name of Tattoomonster (very apt i can assure you ,lol) now these two always went out for a run on a Tuesday being that was the only day these two took a day off of work ,due to the weekend being their busiest times, with me and my brother working at a ferry terminal my bro doing week on and week off  me doing two weeks on and one off, we were able to go for  these midweek ride outs, and here our deep friendship evolved into what we have today,

My good lady, Anita  has been out with us since day one, having sat behind me for twenty plus years she enjoyed the company with the guys who treated her with respect  and how she gave as good as she got in the wind up stakes ,next inline came tattoomonster' s Liz , who had been out with monster quite a few times, but when she met us , we found she came out more and more and became a regular fixture on the back of monsters dyna , enjoying the craic and company of decent biker folk .

Around about the turn of the year another maniac was to appear Crazy James who was a pal of the monsters he started coming out on the Tuesday and the occasional Saturday or Sunday that we all had off, the man suited right in ,crazy as the day was long  but with a heart o gold,  I cant quite remember who came up with the name "Motley Crew" but it seemed very apt, a group of raggle taggle folk who had a common bond this being our Harleys.

Now roundabout this time in 2003 Harley Davidson where to have a 100 year anniversary do in Minehead in deepest England shire, we decided we should attend as it would be our little troops first serious miles together, and over the previous autumn and winter we had got used to each others riding styles , it would be a good test for us all to see how we would survive living hand to mouth with each other for over a week, there was no need to worry on anyone's account and we had a blast so much so, that the Butlins camp weekly news letter had a quite a bit to say about the rally and our little lot in particular .

On our return home some of us joined the H.D.R.C.G.B. some of their members we had met at the Minehead bash and  had a blast with ,just like us mad as hatters and up for a laugh definitely not your typical Harley owners group ,out of this and through the H.D.R.C.G.B. website we met Byde ,the quiet assassin from Kilmarnock, the Byde was right up our street ,not as outlandish as some of us, quiet in a crowd but a good guy  to the core.

In the meantime ,a guy who id known for far too long Roadhawg twenty six years to be precise , he ran around my home town with a different set of bikers .he turned up where I work aboard a very smart black sportster ,we got talking and I knew he would fit right in with the rest of Crew , after one or two run outs he was asked to join immediately and he duly accepted .

Towards the end of that year 2003 beginning of 2004 my good lady had finally had enough of sitting behind me on the old fxr and she decided to get a bike of her own, so i made a deal with her if she passed her test I would go back on pie and beans, and made her a promise that her first bike would be a harley well she stuck to the task and passed here test first time,  well I put the feelers out and soon i was on the road down to Leeds , where a real good friend of mine in the riders club had a beautiful little blue sportster done up like a mini fat boy, money exchanged hands and I was back on the road to Scotland, I must admit I was nearly in tears seeing her face light up and then disappearing on it, after a few run outs with me just to make sure and that  she was confident enough to join our little squad, and she was, so she now holds her own in our crew.

On one of our last little jaunts me and Anita were to have , Tattoomonster asked if he could bring along a friend of his, he had just passed his test also we decided to have a wee run around loch lomond, well Wee Billy came into his own, my tranny went on the blink in the middle of no where ,but he stayed along with the others until a breakdown truck finally appeared just after midnight, by now it was dark ,and the rain couldn't come down any harder ,but the motley spirit shone through ,my  bro J.T appeared in his car to take Anita and Kimberley my youngest daughter who now normally sits up behind her mother, home, but stubborn as I am I put Anita and our youngest in the breakdown truck with my bike and I took hers ,now wee Billy had never been out at night , no street lights and torrential rain ,he struggled on home, but he learned a valuable lesson that night, brothers are brothers and you never let them down  no matter what .the rest of 2004 was a riot .

In 2005, we attended a lot of rally 's, made a lot of friends ,most who will stay with us for a long long time ,one of these good folk  was Harley -Derek, a Geordie lad he was always at the parties or rally's we attended and most times he ended up in our company , always up for a laugh and quick to join in any antics we were doing , without knowing us too well ,a couple of us were doing a charity run from john o groats to lands end along with all the regions in the H.D.R.C.G.B. Derek on hearing this asked if we would like to stay with him overnight as we would have a long hard run , no worries we said ,now this from a guy who hardly knew us ,apart from a couple of rallies ,and what with having his wife and young girl in the house how many people could honestly say they would do that especially in this day and age, Harley -Derek to this day is the only English member  we have although there could be a few more in the distant future if only all the existing crew could meet them .

Also in 2005 after us all knowing our next two members for two years ,and being in their company and loving their camaraderie we asked Michael and Big - Pete to join us, a  better pair of fun loving guys you will never meet ,who are like our own double act, they can have you in fits of laughter over the stupidest of things and they ride their bikes with the same passion as the rest of the crew.

Whilst on many of the drinking spree's that the lads partake in, a region 2 member of the riders club started being noticed in our company, more and more  Wolf as he was called due to his surname  ,became our next member midway through 2006,

Quite a few folk have been out with us on many a run out or at rally's or parties  three of these folk became the last members to join in 2007 ,Win 307 ,Big Chic and last but by no means least our only East Coast member Wee Davie-J .Each of these guys bring some new talents to our crew they all bring what the rest of us have in abundance ,loyalty honesty and trust , keep it real ,folks aand enjoy the website....
